PC 12780 Edward Samura, an OSD police Officer attached to the Bumbuna Police Station is currently hospitalized, after he was reportedly attacked by a group of armed robbers in Bumbuna Town. Samura on the early morning hours of November 10th 2020, was attacked and tortured by armed the robbers at a location he was posted as a security guard. “I was at the Millan Night Club in Bumbuna where I was posted as a security guard. I was attacked by a large group of robbers. They beat me up and threatened to kill me if I don’t handover my weapon”, he said.
Crime Officer Bumbuna Police Station Inspector Tholley said the Officer was initially admitted at the Bumbuna health center but was later moved to the Magburaka Government Hospital due to the severity of the matter.
Inspector Abdul Rahman Sankoh, Police Spokesman North East region said his office received the complaint of an attack on the officer. The OSD department, the spokesman says is preparing a report which they will send to his office in respect of the matter. Bumbuna has been on the Limelight for armed robbery activities and many residents in the town have become victims.
