Savage street bridge collapsed injuring some people

FREETOWN-Savage street bridge linking St. John and Syke street in Western Freetown and interceptions has collapsed. The bridge collapsed on Thursday afternoon. The bridge is the key link with the Western part of Freetown. The incident left some people injured with no casualty reported yet.According to residents of the neighborhood, there have been warning signs and media houses have reported on it. Meanwhile a press release from the Sierra Leone Roads Authority has issued a press release on the incident. The authority said it has dispatched a team of engineers to assess the level of damage and determine their response. The Mayor of Freetown Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr also visited the area and had a talk with the affected residents.
